Dr. Courtney Lesnick joined the My Pet’s Vet team as the new Chief of Staff in March 2021. Dr. Lesnick was born in Ponca City, OK but grew up in Houston, TX. She went to undergrad at Randolph-Macon Women’s College in Lynchburg Virginia and graduated with a BS in Biology with Honors in 2000. She went to veterinary school at Texas A&M in College Station, TX. While there, Dr. Lesnick received a Health Professions Scholarship from the Army, and after graduation in 2004, was stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH for a little over 3 years. There she was responsible for the care of 15 military working dogs, ran two on-base wellness clinics in Ohio and Michigan, and inspected over 40 commercial food establishments in the area. After the Army, Dr. Lesnick moved with her now-husband to New Jersey, where she worked at Woodbridge Veterinary Hospital for 5.5 years. Hoping to get back to her southern roots, Dr. Lesnick moved to Athens in Feb 2013. She worked at Best Friend Vet Hospital in Braselton, GA for the next 8 years. Dr. Courtney Lesnick is very excited to bring her high standards of care to the Buford My Pet’s Vet location. She has special interests in surgery, feline medicine, and is passionate about thoroughly explaining medical conditions and making the clinic experience as stress-free as possible for pets and their owners. In her free time, she loves traveling and trying new cuisine.
Dr. Cerjan lives with his wife Linda in Sugar Hill Georgia and has been a veterinarian around Atlanta for over thirty years. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and despite criticism from his feline and avian friends is an unabashed Dawg fan. Dr. Cerjan works to provide his patients with the healthiest, happiest, and longest lives possible. He feels privileged to be part of the team of his patients’ caretakers and families providing medical care and education. His past and present furred, feathered, and scaled companions have enriched his life through sharing their lives and personalities with him. They will always be a part of him, and he hopes he has given back to them. Dr. Cerjan also enjoys spending time with his family, baking, reading, and gardening.
My Pet’s Vet Staff
Ervina was born and raised in Europe, and is fluent in 3 languages. She has lived in Atlanta, Georgia for over 15 years. Ervina has worked in the veterinary industry for over 8 years, with her two pit bulls supporting her every step of the way. When Ervina is not traveling she is spending most of her days outside enjoying the nature.
Vivian was born in Miami, Florida, but has lived in Georgia for 10 plus years. Vivian started out working in fast food for a few years. She spontaneously walked into My Pet’s Vet to see if they were hiring. She always wanted to work in the Vet industry. She was hired as a Vet Assistant, and is hoping to climb the latter and hopefully one day become a Vet herself.
Oriana was born in Venezuela and moved to the U.S. in search of a better future when she was 15. Oriana did not know any English and knew she had to work very hard to reach her dream of becoming a veterinarian, and has been taking baby steps to achieving her goal. She has a beautiful baby girl who she spoils too much, but let’s be honest, who doesn’t? In her free time Oriana loves to take her daughter to the park.
Rachel was born and raised in Georgia, moved to Maryland for 6 years and is now back in Georgia. She has an identical twin sister who is 7 minutes older than her, a little brother 13 years younger than her, and 1 fur baby. Yoda, her tuxedo cat is 12 years old. Rachel has had Yoda since his mother gave birth to him. Yoda was born unable to breathe. Rachel gave him CPR and he took his first breathe, and she ended up keeping him. Rachel always knew she wanted to work with animals. She first wanted to be a small animal vet. That has slowly evolved and ultimately she wants to become a equine ophthalmologist.
My Pet’s Place Staff
Nyelah is thrilled and excited to work at My Pet’s Vet. Caring for your fur babies is very important to her, not just to have fun with them and shower them with love, but also to make sure they are taken good care of and have the healthiness they need. She wouldn’t rather be anywhere else than with these fur babies on the daily.
