Our Doctor
Dr. Paul Smail is originally form Madison, Wisconsin. He moved to Atlanta in 2008. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Biology from The Florida State University, Dr. Smail graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Dr. Smail is well versed in all aspects of small animal medicine, but has special interests in dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and geriatric medicined. Dr. Smail is married to Dr. Nicole Smail, a pediatrician for PAMPA. They have two children, Gavin (19) who is a freshman in college and Sophia (15) who is a sophomore in high school. They have two dogs, Bowden a Labrador Retriever and Badger, a Golden Doodle. Dr. Smail enjoys watching sports, playing tennis, taking his dogs to the North Carolina mountains, and traveling with his family.
Our Staff
Mary graduated from Valdosta State University with her bachelors in biology with an emphasis in vet med. She has loved animals her whole life, but has worked professionally with them for the past 7 years. Mary and her husband have two dogs: a 7 year old German Shepherd mix named Cara and a 3 year old Belgian Malinois named Nya.
Johana was born in Mexico and moved to Atlanta, Ga when she was 5 years old. She worked in the medical field for 5 years as a medical assistant/ front office assistant until she realized that her passion was working with Animals, she is also in the process of obtaining her grooming certificate. Johana has two pets an Australian Shepherd named Eevee and a black and white cat named Nikko. Johana has been married for 12 years and has a 5 year old daughter who loves the outdoors so her family is always out walking in the trails or at the park with their dog.
My Pet’s Place Staff
Bri is very passionate about animals and grew up with dogs and cats. She cared for livestock such as cattle and hogs for her county FFA chapter during her time in high school. Throughout her time in college she has taken many classes pertaining to companion animals and livestock, and even learned how to show horses. Bri currently has 3 fish, a Crowntail Betta named Kuzco, a Goldfish named Penelope and a Pleco named Pips. Her favorite part about working with animals is being able to bond with them and give them the care they need.
Candis has been working in the pet industry for 5 years and has been a dog groomer for almost 3. She is a hardworking mom to a very handsome 3 year old boy and his two furry siblings, Jerry (7 year old, pitbull) and Izzy (2 year old, chihuahua). Candis is passionate about her role in creating a safe, comfortable, and positive environment where your dogs can receive the highest quality grooming care. She values a compassionate approach to grooming and loves forming close relationships with her clients (both human and furry friend). It’s the perfect way to combine her understanding and compassion for animals with her creativity and eye for detail.
Helana is a huge animal advocate, an experience kennel technician and an exotic animal keeper.
