Our Doctors
Dr. Dannette Schweers
Chief of Staff DVM
Dr. Danette Schweers, in addition to general practice, has special interests in pain management, surgery, and emergency medicine. Born and raised in Boerne, Texas, she attended Texas A&M University Veterinary school. Afterwards, Dr. Schweers served an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles. The next several years were spent working in emergency care centers in California, before moving back to Texas. Here she continued emergency medicine, including opening up a new emergency room for animals. Dr. Schweers has earned status of Diplomat of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, Canine and Feline Practice. Outside of work, she spends her time raising 3 wonderful kids and trying to keep up with their 90 year old house. She continues to enjoy the Texas Hill Country whenever possible, usually with other hobbies like running and occasional hunting.

 

Dr. Roque Gonzales
DVM
Doctor Gonzales completed his undergraduate at TAMU, and his DVM at Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon (UANL). He has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1981. Dr. Gonzales has been a member of the AVMA since 1980, and is also a member of the AAHA. In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar, and has played many venues around San Antonio. He is an avid reader, enjoys saltwater fishing and spending time with his wife.

Sarah Helm-Director of Hospital Operations
Sarah has eight years experience as a Veterinary Technician, six in small animal practice, and two in emergency medicine. Sarah recently graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with her masters degree in microbiology. She plans on applying to a DVM program, and hopes to eventually become a veterinarian herself. She has one cat named BK, (Big Kitty) and one dog named Harley.
Jaylen Mata-Veterinary Technician
Jaylen has three years of experience in being a vet tech. She is currently am going to school full time to become a Veterinarian. She has three dogs, named Titan, Bud, and JW, and a cat named Rosco. In her spare time she loves to play basketball, and spending time with her pets. Another of her hobbies is learning about engines in fast cars and trucks.

 

Stacy Chrisley-CSR/Vet Assistant
Stacy was born in Molokai, Hawaii. She has worked in the Veterinary business for over two years. She is currently finishing up her Veterinary Technician degree at Penn Foster. She has loved animals as long as she can remember. Stacy has one daughter, Crimson and a Great Dame named Gwen. She also has a horse named Maverick she rides in her spare time. She also used to compete in rodeos.
Pearl Chagolla-Veterinary Technician
Pearl’s interest in dentistry turned into an interest in anatomy, especially animals. This set her on the veterinary path. She has animal handling experience, beginning with volunteer and shadowing positions at the San Antonio ACS. A graduate of Texas A&M, she is glad to be back home in Texas with her two senior dogs and umbrella cockatoos.
